What We've Been Reading
More on South African wines

A couple of weeks ago, we gave you the wheel and let you be our guides to the WWW of wine, sharing two blogs suggested by readers. Thanks for all your comments offering up what you'd been reading.

We do listen to you, and again this week we've followed a tip from a reader. Yes, it was to his own blog, but there's no harm in a bit of self-promotion when it is what you've been reading, writing and possibly staring at for hours.

Yesterday, we ran a story on South African red wines, and Dr Christian G. E. Schiller commented with a link to a post on his trip to South Africa on his blog, schiller-wine. "New World Wine Producer South Africa" is a great read for not only anyone wanting to learn more about South African wines but interested in wine, history, wine history and the wine industry in general.

Christian's well informed and comprehensive take extends to the rest of his excellent blog, with recent posts on Bodegas San Prudencio from Rioja and the Suedburgenland region in Austria featuring maps, photos and a history of the regions. He covers a lot of ground literally and figuratively, splitting his time between Washington, D.C. and Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and traveling extensively.
